Within the PA.CON II – Pannonia-Adria Connection II project, Tuzla was visited by 20 participants from Montenegro, who through a thematic visit had the opportunity to get acquainted with the city's tourism potentials, as well as the facilities and infrastructure developed and improved through the project's activities.
The visit program included a tour of the Ilinčica site, which received significantly improved tourist and recreational facilities through the PA.CON I project. Through an organized guided tour, participants had the opportunity to visit the Ilinčica Nature House and learn about the amenities that make this site an attractive destination for spending time in nature and active tourism.
Continuing investments in the tourist offer of Ilinčica, through the PA.CON II project, the site was further enriched with amenities intended for nature and active holiday lovers. A bird-watching observatory was built, while a charging station for electric bicycles and a service station for their repair were installed for users of bicycle infrastructure. Within the project, 15 electric bicycles with accompanying equipment were also procured, which will be available to visitors and further contribute to the development and promotion of sustainable forms of tourist mobility in Tuzla.
The existing cycling and educational trail was also further improved and enriched with covered bicycle parking spaces, bicycle repair service stations, and electric bicycle charging stations. In this way, better conditions were created for using bicycles as a means of recreation, as well as a sustainable way of touring tourist sites.
During the visit, participants also had the opportunity to get to know the inner city core of Tuzla, touring the most significant city locations within a tourist tour using an electric van, which was also procured through the PA.CON II project. The use of an electric vehicle further emphasized the component of sustainable and environmentally friendly tourist mobility.
The visit program also included a tour of the Pannonian Lakes and the International Portrait Gallery, giving participants the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the natural, cultural, and tourist potentials of Tuzla.
The thematic visit represented an opportunity for the exchange of experiences, familiarization with the results of project investments, and the presentation of concrete examples of sustainable tourist infrastructure development. Through such activities, the PA.CON II project contributes to connecting destinations and stakeholders from the cross-border area, exchanging knowledge and experiences, and further developing the tourist offer based on the natural and cultural potentials of the local community.
