Within the project Pannonia–Adria Connection II (PA.CON II), and as part of the seven-day training programme “Birdwatching as a Factor of Tourism in the Development of Local Communities,” the first – introductory workshop was held today.
The workshop was attended by fifteen participants, the majority of whom are students of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Tuzla.
This initial activity marked the beginning of a comprehensive capacity-building programme for key target groups, with a particular focus on the development and promotion of birdwatching as a sustainable tourism product. This form of tourism represents a new tourism package being developed with the aim of enriching the overall offer and creating added value for local communities.
The objective of the training was to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills and to enable their active involvement in the development and promotion of tourism offers based on natural resources. The lectures, delivered by an experienced tourism expert, were highly informative and engaging. Through an interactive and dynamic approach, participants had the opportunity to actively contribute, exchange experiences, and present concrete proposals and ideas for improving the tourism offer.
During the workshop, special emphasis was placed on the importance of birdwatching as a modern and increasingly sought-after form of tourism that contributes both to the preservation of natural heritage and to the economic empowerment of local communities. Participants demonstrated strong interest in the topic, recognizing the potential that this new tourism package can bring to the destination.
This introductory workshop represents an important step in the project’s implementation and lays the foundation for further work in the coming days of training, with the aim of creating a high-quality and sustainable tourism offer based on the principles of responsible and sustainable development.
The project is co-financed under the Interreg VI-A IPA CBC Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2021–2027 Programme, through ERDF and IPA III funds of the European Union.
