Within the PA.CON II – Pannonia–Adria Connection II project, which is being implemented with the aim of promoting the natural values and sustainable development of the project area, the NERDA Development Association is implementing the activity of painting promotional murals at selected locations in Tuzla.
As part of this activity, the painting of the first promotional mural on the exterior wall of the "Pčelica" kindergarten (Public Institution "Naše dijete" Tuzla) has been completed. Photocatalytic paints were used for the mural, thereby connecting the artistic content with the ecological aspects of the project and the promotion of a responsible attitude towards the environment.
The promotional murals within the PA.CON II project are designed to represent and promote the indigenous flora and fauna, the biodiversity of the area, ecological connectivity, and other characteristic natural values of the project area, as well as the concept of sustainable tourism. Through visual and artistic expression, the murals simultaneously convey messages about the importance of environmental protection, nature conservation, and a responsible attitude towards natural values.
The first completed mural features a bee, a motif that naturally and symbolically aligns with the name of the kindergarten "Pčelica" (Little Bee). As an important pollinator, the bee plays a significant role in preserving biodiversity and natural ecosystems, so its depiction further emphasizes the ecological message of this activity. At the same time, the cheerful and child-friendly motif contributes to creating a more pleasant and creative environment for the youngest.
Through the implementation of promotional murals, the PA.CON II project seeks to enrich public spaces, bring natural values closer to citizens and visitors, and promote the importance of nature conservation and the development of sustainable tourism through art.
In addition to the completed mural at the "Pčelica" kindergarten, preparatory works are underway for painting a second promotional mural at another location in Tuzla. This mural will also be dedicated to presenting natural values and ecological messages, thus continuing the implementation of activities within the PA.CON II project.
By implementing this activity, the NERDA Development Association continues to contribute to the creation of more attractive and meaningful public spaces, while simultaneously promoting natural heritage, biodiversity, environmental protection, and sustainable tourism.
