The final conference of the project "New Outdoor Stay Locations for Improving the Quality of the Tourist Product - Open-Air Everywhere" was held in Tuzla. The conference gathered representatives from the NERDA Development Association, the city of Tuzla, the Tuzla Tourist Board, the Tourism organization of the region of Western Serbia, as well as many other stakeholders from the tourism sector.
The project, valued at 394,082 euros, was co-financed by the European Union under the Serbia-Bosnia and Herzegovina Cross-Border Cooperation Program (2014-2020). The financing agreement was signed with the Ministry of Finance – Sector for Contracting and Financing EU Program Funds.
At the conference, key results of the project were presented, focusing on improving the tourist offer and services in the cross-border area of the Zlatibor District and Tuzla Canton. Project activities were aimed at strengthening the capacity of the tourism sector, attracting more tourists, and promoting the joint tourist offer. The focus was also on smaller-scale investments to enhance specific outdoor tourism features, such as equipping the recreational park at Ilinčica in Tuzla and setting up 9 ecological camping zones in the Western Serbia region.
Participants were shown a video created as part of the project, which introduces them to the outdoor tourist facilities located at 10 cross-border locations that were part of the project.
