Development Association NERDA organized an educational workshop at the Ilinčica Nature House in Tuzla, dedicated to the importance of biodiversity conservation and the opportunities for developing sustainable tourism through activities such as birdwatching.

The workshop was attended by representatives of the tourism and education sectors and environmental activists. Topics related to rare and endangered bird species in Bosnia and Herzegovina, procedures for declaring protected areas, and methods for involving local communities in nature conservation activities generated particular interest. Participants demonstrated an understanding of the importance of habitat preservation, especially for bird species, and recognized birdwatching as a genuine opportunity for the development of eco-tourism in Tuzla Canton.

During the discussion, participants presented their own proposals for future activities that could be implemented through schools, institutions, and civic initiatives, confirming that the workshop not only met expectations but also generated new ideas for further action.

The workshop was conducted as part of the PA.CON II project, which is co-financed through the Interreg VI-A IPA CBC Programme Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2021–2027, with the support of the European Union's ERDF and IPA III funds.
