As part of the "Education4All" project, the Development Association NERDA organized the first cycle of a 4-day educational and informative training session on inclusive education in Gračanica. The education is primarily intended for teaching assistants, but also for teaching staff and special education teachers who are engaged in the 2023/2024 school year. On October 20 and 21, a total of 17 participants from Junior High School "Hasan Kikić", Junior High School "Soko", Junior High School "Džakule", Junior High School "Doborovci" and Junior High School "Džakule" attended the training.
On the first day of the training, participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the basic elements of inclusive education with reference to the legal framework in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the characteristics of children/persons with disabilities in intellectual and physical development, children with autism and impaired hearing, speech and vision.
On the second day of the training, the participants went through the process of assessing the abilities of children and youth with developmental disabilities in the Tuzla Canton and the importance of pedagogical observation. One part of the training was planned for practical work, during which the participants had the opportunity to go through ways of adapting the program and didactic material for children with difficulties and independently create a customized program with the aim of easier acquisition of knowledge.
The "Education4All" project is financed by the American Embassy, and is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Tuzla Canton, the Institute for the Education of Persons with Mental and Physical Disabilities Tuzla and the Center for Early Intervention "Mali svijet" Bistarac.
