Within the framework of the international Back on Track (BoT) project, the North-East Development Association (NERDA) and the Ministry of Economy of Tuzla Canton successfully organized a Digital Career Fair. The event was held online on November 27, 2025, as part of a wider regional fair connecting 10 countries across the Danube Region.
Direct Connection with Employers The primary objective of the fair was to connect young NEET women from rural areas with realistic opportunities in the digital technology and creative industry sectors. The session for Bosnia and Herzegovina included a total of 17 participants, including mentees from the BoT program, mentors, and representatives from three successful local companies: DKR – German Centre for Robotics, the digital marketing studio Marketar, and the creative agency Kuća Ideja.
Key Messages: Motivation Outweighs Experience During the interactive presentations, employers shared encouraging messages with the participants:
-
DKR emphasized that women perform equally well in robotics and industrial automation, noting that their recruitment process focuses more on attitude and communication skills than prior technical knowledge, as they provide in-house mentorship for new hires.
-
Marketar highlighted the importance of an entrepreneurial spirit and creativity through the personal journey of its female founder.
-
Kuća Ideja presented opportunities for project-based freelance work, which led to an immediate agreement for cooperation with one of the mentees during the event.
